After beginning karting, Daniil moved to Formula BMW in 2010. Backed by Red Bull, he won twice in the Pacific Series. In 2011, he moved to Formula Renault 2.0. He won twice and finished 3rd overall in the EuroCup. A second year in Formula Renault saw him win the Alps series and claim second in the European series – with multiple race wins. Kvyat competed in European F3 and GP3 in 2013 – winning the GP3 series with 3 race wins. Two tests for Toro Rosso in F1 practice sessions throughout the year saw him announced as a replacement for Daniel Ricciardo in Toro Rosso for 2014.
With 5 top ten finishes throughout the season and multiple Q3 appearances, Daniil Kvyat impressed the Red Bull team in 2014. Positive results and great drives helped claim him a place in the Red Bull team for 2015, following Sebastian Vettel’s decision to leave the team. He will be racing alongside Ricciardo in the team.
