With just five races remaining in 2017, the championship fight is still very much alive. However, Vettel is in need of a good result after the disappointing results in Singapore and Malaysia. But, with Red Bull looking strong, it should be another close fight between the top 3 teams.
In another stunning qualifying performance, Hamilton has secured his 71st pole position, but his first at the famous Suzuka circuit. Championship rival, Vettel, had a trouble free session and will line up alongside him on the front row for tomorrow’s race.
With Vettel retiring early on due to engine issues, Hamilton extends his lead in the championship to a massive 59 points. Despite a late challenge from Verstappen, Hamilton held on to the lead of the race, winning by under 2 seconds.
