As Formula One reaches the halfway point in the season, we head to Silverstone for race 10 of 2016. The high speed, historic venue will host its 50th Grand Prix this weekend. After the dramatic end to the Austrian Grand Prix, Hamilton is just 11 points behind Rosberg in the championship. Can he take the lead at his home grand prix?
In a dominant performance for Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton took pole position by over 3 tenths to Rosberg. Although over a second off the Mercedes drivers, Red Bull were the best of the rest, with Verstappen third and Ricciardo fourth.
Hamilton takes his fourth British grand prix victory on a wet-dry track. The rain fell just minutes before the race start, leaving the circuit covered in water. Starting under the safety car, the race got underway on lap 5, as many drivers immediately switched to inters. A thrilling battle saw Rosberg second ahead of Verstappen but a later penalty for the German promoted Verstappen to second.
