Button confirmed at McLaren for 2016

October 1, 2015

McLaren have announced that Button will be staying at the team in 2016, despite rumours that he may be retiring from F1 at the end of the season. The 2009 world champion’s “wealth of experience makes him a massively valuable asset to our team – he is also supremely fit and as super-fast as ever” Says Ron Dennis.

Nothing has yet been announced about Button’s current teammate, Alonso, regarding his future with the team. At last week’s grand prix his frustration with the Honda engine became clear as he described it as a GP2 engine and said the performance was embarrassing.

Button feels confident that McLaren will improve a lot next year and he will have some success after the disappointment of the 2015 season so far.
