Ferrari have announced that they have decided to keep Kimi Raikkonen for 2016, despite suggesting they may drop him. Other drivers such as Bottas, Ricciardo and Hulkenburg had been named as potential replacements. However, the team would have to pay millions to get Bottas or Ricciardo as they both already have contracts with other teams next year. as a result of this, Ferrari have made the decision to sign Raikkonen for next season.
Despite this, it is clear Raikkonen needs to have stronger performances in the coming races, currently on less than half the points his teammate Vettel has. He has also only been on the podium once this season, compared to 7 from Vettel.
