After a tough season in 2015, dropping to 9th in the championship, McLaren are targeting a big step forwards for 2016. The livery remains similar to last year, with red and black, and the short nose is also retained. McLaren boss, Ron Dennis, says the team have worked incredibly hard over the winter but are unsure of when the wins will come.
Button will be driving the car tomorrow in the first day of pre-season testing, he said:
I’m not about to make any over-optimistic predictions – F1 is far too unpredictable to do that – but from what I’ve seen so far the aero detailing on the car looks fantastic and I’m really looking forward to beginning the process of testing our innovations.
