Hulkenberg’s time was set on super-softs, the only driver to do so today. Grosjean made up for the low amount of running on Monday, completing 82 laps and setting the second fastest time of the day 20 minutes before the end of the session. In contrast Ferrari suffered from a fuel flow issue, missing 3 hours of testing, yet still set one of the fastest laps of the day.
Mercedes ran both drivers, Rosberg in the morning and Hamilton after the lunch break. They once again topped the lap count, on 162 laps between them. Sainz was another to complete a large amount of laps, just one less than Mercedes, and also set a good time.
Renault had a better day today, on 111 laps, and made to 4th on the timesheet. However, they had to stop one hour before the end with an engine fault. After a positive morning, McLaren faced issues later in the day, with a hydraulic leak ending their session early.
Haryanto had a good debut in the Manor, although a spin sent him into the gravel trap just before the lunch break. Despite this he completed 78 laps but was over a second behind his closest rival.
