With thunderstorms forecast for race day, and Vettel under pressure in the title race, the Malaysian GP is set to be a good one. After Hamilton’s title-deciding engine failure last year, Red Bull took a 1-2 finish. It is going to be tough for them to have a repeat of that result this time, but with the rain anything could happen.
Lewis Hamilton has taken pole position in Malaysia, after his championship rival suffered power unit issues and failed to set a lap. Raikkonen put in a strong performance for second, ahead of Verstappen.
Verstappen dominated the race, passing Hamilton on lap 2 and controlling the race from there. Ricciardo secured third, followed by Vettel in fourth – who fought an impressive race from 20th on the grid.
