A big race for Red Bull, their second home race and a track owned by company owner Dietrich Mateschitz. So far, since the race returned in 2014, they have been unable to challenge for victory. But this year it could all change, especially with the rain forecast over the weekend.
Qualifying
Hamilton will line up on pole for tomorrow’s race, alongside Hulkenberg, after a dramatic qualifying session. Gearbox penalties for both Vettel and Rosberg allow Button to move up into 3rd on the grid, his highest grid position since 2012.
Race
Hamilton wins an eventful Austrian GP after the Mercedes pair collide on the final lap. The crash prevented Mercedes claiming another 1-2 finish, as Rosberg dropped to 4th with severe damage on his car. The incident promoted Verstappen to 2nd and Raikkonen to 3rd, the only finisher for Ferrari after Vettel suffered a tyre explosion.
