Significant changes have been made to the circuit since the race last year, which will give the teams an extra challenge across the weekend. After a poor race for Hamilton in Singapore, Rosberg now leads the championship by 8 points but it is going to be a close fight between the pair. With rain forecast this weekend as well, we could be in for some exciting racing on Sunday.
Qualifying
Dominating qualifying, Hamilton takes his fourth pole position in Malaysia and his 100th front row start. Rosberg managed to keep the Red Bulls behind, but they were close enough to put him under pressure. The Ferraris of Vettel and Raikkonen lock out the third row, unable to match the pace of the Red Bulls.
Race
Victory for Ricciardo after Hamilton suffers an engine failure whilst leading. The Brit dominated the race until his car burst into flames, ending his race. This means Rosberg further extends his championship lead to 23 points, having fought back to third after spinning on the first corner.
