The Sauber C35 is an all-new design thanks to the 2017 regulation changes, and the team have opted for a blue, white and gold livery to celebrate 25 years in Formula One. Big changes from last year can be spotted, with the lower rear wing and wider tyres the most notable of these differences.

Sauber hope for a big improvement from last year, when they finished 10th of 11 teams. They hope to be challenging more within the mid-field and hope to score more points than the disappointing two they managed to pick up in 2016.
Technical Director Jorg Zander explained that more work was put into aerodynamic stability rather than maximum downforce. They focused on reducing the drag produced by the car, due to wider tyres producing larger amounts of unwanted drag.
With a 2016-spec Ferrari engine for the C35, they were able to begin work earlier than most on the car design, which they hope will give them an extra advantage over their rivals.
The car will see its track debut in just two days time at Barcelona for a filming day before testing begins next week. Ericsson will be driving in on Thursday as well as for the test next week although it is still unclear when Wehrlein will get his first drive, following a crash in the Race of Champions earlier in the year.
The next car to be launched will be Renault’s RS17 tomorrow in London, full car launch schedule here.
