At the end of February 2015, Marussia were added to the FIA entry list for the 2015 season. After going into administration last year, the team have received investments which have helped them get back into F1. Their main investor is Stephen Fitzpatrick, boss of energy firm Ovo.
The Marussia team was formerly known as Virgin before changing their name in 2012. 2012 was a poor season and they struggled to finish in the points. They finished in last place overall, behind Caterham. 2013 was a similar story but they beat Caterham, thanks to a 13th place in Malaysia.
2014 saw Marussia score their first points after Bianchi finished 9th in Monaco. However, in the Japanese Grand Prix, Bianchi was seriously injured and sustained serious head injuries. Just weeks later, Marussia faced financial problems. They missed the final 3 races of the season. They managed to enter in 2015, but missed the first race with technical issues on the car. However, they were able to compete in the whole season.
With Booth and Lowdon leaving at the end of the 2015 season, the team changed to Manor racing in 2016 but this was their final season in F1 after running into more financial issues.
