Formula One returns after the summer break, with Hamilton leading by 19 points. Arriving in Spa, F1 returns to one of the greatest circuits in the world to get the second part of the season underway.
With Hamilton already starting at the back of the grid due to engine penalties, his teammate Rosberg took pole position ahead of Verstappen. An impressive lap from the Red Bull driver saw him come within two tenths of the pole sitter. Ricciardo had a disappointing session, finishing behind both Ferrari drivers in 5th.
Rosberg claims victory in a straightforward race to close the gap in the championship. After a strong race from 5th, Ricciardo ended 2nd ahead of Hamilton – who started from the back of the grid. But it was disappointment for home fans, as Verstappen was involved in a collision at the first corner and dropped down the pack.
